Thai Cinnamon Iced Tea

Great way to push over that mid afternoon lul ahhhhh bye.

You'll need

  • - 1 Cup water
  • - 1 Cup Apple Juice
  • - 1 whole star anise
  • - 1 whole cinnamon stick, cracked
  • - 8-10 ea nutmeg shavings
  • - 3 whole cloves, smashed
  • - 8 whole pink peppercorns
  • - 5 cardamom pods, cracked
  • - 1 Inch knub of ginger or 2T dried
  • - ¼ Cup HoneyBuzz
  • - 4 Tbsp loose leaf black tea

Let’s get cooking!

STEP 1

In a medium saucepan, combine the water, juice, whole spices, and sugar.

STEP 2

Bring to a boil, then cover and remove from the heat.

STEP 3

Let steep for 15 minutes or longer, depending on your desired potency.

STEP 4

Return to the heat and bring to a boil.

STEP 5

Add the tea, remove from the heat, and let steep for another 10 minutes Return to heat and boil one final time and strain out the tea and spices.

STEP 6

If you'd like to make a regular batch of Chai, add the milk and serve immediately.

STEP 7

To make the Chai iced tea cubes, let the mixture cool, then pour into an ice-cube tray and freeze.

STEP 8

To make an iced chai latte, add 2-3 ice cubes to a glass of milk (about 1/4 cup of milk per cube).

STEP 9

The tea will get stronger
